ABBI Clinic’s staff team holds a pretty mind-boggling breadth and depth of experience. Still, I’ve consistently felt their efforts to learn, develop and improve as individual professionals, and as a service. Patients’ voices feel important and valued by ABBI – for shaping our own care and for the service itself. The team are incredibly skilled at building strong, trusting working relationships with patients. Staff bring real humanity and authenticity to their clinical expertise. After battling with an eating disorder throughout most of my life, I was desperate to find a team of professionals under one roof that would understand and not judge me. Well, I can say I certainly found that immediately from the Abbi team. Firstly, I would like to say I'd lost trust in everything, and sadly in myself. However, I trusted Dr Sharma, Dr Verma, and Chloe Stringer, and the kindness from the rest of the team, because theyfew didn't force me to do anything - they gently guided me and gave me reassurance. So when I attempted my first big hurdle, they were there to support me. I was so excited to achieve something, I thought I nvever had the life skills to do. They continued to help me challenge more boundaries and gave me the courage to do it. I trusted the programme and experienced the rewarding results. For the first time ever, I started to feel free and less preoccupied and became consistently excited about recovery and its journey. Just a few words to describe the team at Abbi Clinic - very approachable, caring, they make you feel safe, and you truly feel heard. I now feel and believe I can challenge more on this ongoing recovery journey, in trusting myself, which is the biggest gift I could ever ask for. I'm regaining my personality, and its a freedom no one can take from me. Also for those who don't live near Manchester, it's well worth the travel there.
