Kate Pearson

Psychological Therapist

Kate is a Psychological Therapist who is deeply committed to the treatment of eating disorders — a field she was drawn to after seeing how closely food, body image, and self-worth can become intertwined, and how transformative recovery can be with the right support.
Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based models, always tailored to the individual.
Kate joins ABBI from the Stockport adult community eating disorder service. She holds a Diploma in Counselling and an MSc in Psychology, and has presented her research on body image and disordered eating at the BASES conference. Before this, Kate worked in advertising, which gave her a useful insight into cultural and societal influences on body image — perspectives she brings to her therapy practice.
Outside of clinical work, Kate is a huge tag rugby fan, enjoys listening to audiobooks, and planning road trips.
