Professional referrals to ABBI Clinic

Treatment through the NHS currently comes via Community Eating Disorder teams.

If you are a professional working in the NHS please contact your local Community Eating Disorder Team who act as gatekeepers to our service.

If you work within a Community Eating Disorder Team, referral is via the Integrated Care Board (ICB). Please contact us for information on this process

 

Who can we accept?

  • 16 years and over
  • A primary eating disorder diagnosis
  • Minimum BMI of 14 (or below, depending on risk)

Information for referrers

NHS referrals are made via the local Community Eating Disorder Team. 

This requires application to the local ICB via an Individual Funding Request Form. Please contact us for information on this process or for the relevant form. Contact us to discuss referrals by completing the form on our contact page or email [email protected].

We can support you with information about the different treatments available.We will undertake an initial assessment, and if treatment is deemed suitable, we will apply for funding.

Treatment can be funded through all major insurance companies or by self-funding.

  1. Self referral – please contact us via email to discuss. We may then arrange an assessment, following which we can discuss potential treatment options. 
  2. Insurance – please contact your insurer to request a referral to day treatment. Please contact us via email if you have any queries.
