Eating Disorder Associate
Raya is an Eating Disorder Associate at ABBI Clinic and holds a First-Class degree in Psychology. Alongside her role at ABBI, Raya has experience supporting young people with their mental health and wellbeing, working with individuals experiencing difficulties including anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and challenging life circumstances in schools, charities and therapeutic environments.
Raya has always been fascinated by the relationship between our thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and how these can shape the way we understand ourselves. Her experience working directly with young people has strengthened her passion for helping individuals feel heard, understood and supported through difficult periods in their lives.
Raya takes a warm, person-centred and compassionate approach to her work. She believes that effective support begins with seeing the individual beyond the difficulties they are experiencing and creating a space where they feel safe to be open without judgement. She is passionate about helping people recognise their strengths, build confidence and develop practical strategies that they can carry with them beyond their time in treatment.
Outside of work, Raya enjoys drawing and creating art, playing electric guitar, discovering new music and watching horror movies. She has a particular interest in understanding what makes people think, feel and behave the way they do, which is one of the reasons she finds working within mental health so meaningful.
