What is in-person treatment?

In-person treatment at ABBI Clinic means attending one of our clinics to receive specialist eating disorder care face-to-face with your clinical team. Whether you are accessing Outpatient therapy, dietetic support, or our intensive Day Care programme, treatment is delivered in a warm and confidential environment where you can focus entirely on your recovery.

Your treatment plan is individually developed following a thorough assessment, and may include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, dietitian support, psychiatry, nursing, or a combination of these. The specific combination will be built around your clinical needs rather than following a fixed protocol.

Sessions can take place over the course of a week as part of our Day Care programme, or at scheduled intervals as part of Outpatient treatment.

Both of our clinics offer on-site parking and are designed to feel accessible and non-institutional. We understand that attending a clinic for the first time can feel daunting, and we do everything we can to make your arrival and your experience with us feel as straightforward and comfortable as possible.

In-person treatment is well-suited to people who benefit from the structure and containment of a dedicated clinical setting, who find it easier to engage with therapeutic work when physically present with their team, or who are accessing our day care programme and attending regularly throughout the week.

Specialist Eating Disorder GP

“For many of the patients I work with, coming to the clinic is part of the commitment they are making to their recovery.

The space itself becomes associated with that work, and over time, with the progress they are making.

For some people, having that physical space for treatment makes a real difference to how fully they are able to engage.”
