Recognising that you may need eating disorder treatment is a big step. At ABBI Clinic, we do everything we can to make you feel seen, heard, and cared for at every stage of your recovery journey. Our specialist team knows just how hard it can be to live with an eating disorder, so allow us to introduce ourselves and some of the principles we hold at the heart of our care.
We are a specialist eating disorder clinic founded and led by Dr Sonu Sharma, Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director, and Dr Jaya Verma, Specialist Eating Disorder GP.
Sonu and Jaya created ABBI because they saw how fragmented, inflexible, and delayed care often leaves people and families without the support they need at the point it matters most. Drawing on their many years of combined experience, ABBI Clinic was designed to do things differently.
Based in the North of England with established clinics in Manchester and Preston, alongside a fully virtual service supporting patients across the UK, we are dedicated to providing the full spectrum of specialist eating disorder care all within our service. Whatever stage you are at in your recovery, we have the expertise, the team, and the flexibility to support you.
We are proud to offer the highest-quality, evidence-based support at every stage of treatment. Our specialist team understands that the road to recovery isn’t linear; that’s why we offer treatment plans tailored to your specific circumstances. Whether you are starting treatment for the first time or taking the next step in your recovery, we’ll create the right treatment pathway for your needs.
We know that seeking help can be a daunting process. Reaching out to us takes courage, and our team takes pride in creating warm, empathetic relationships with everyone we support, getting to know you on a personal level to ensure you feel welcome and comfortable.
At every step of your recovery, we’ll be there to provide high-quality clinical care alongside empathy, kindness, and understanding.
